Clarifications on how Bimons defines model ownership, data exchange limits, and rendering accuracy across industrial BIM engagements.

Who owns the federated model after handover?

Ownership transfers to your organisation once the final federated model is delivered and the acceptance checklist is signed. Bimons retains a read-only archive copy for reference during the defect liability period. Any reuse of that archive for a separate project requires a new agreement.

What file formats does the rendering pipeline accept?

The pipeline ingests IFC 4.3, Revit 2023 and newer, and native point-cloud exports from Leica and Faro scanners. If your structural team works in Tekla or MicroStation, we convert those exports to IFC before rendering. Files above 2 GB are split by discipline to keep the wireframe view responsive.

How is structural accuracy verified in the output?

Every rendered frame is checked against the source geometry at the element level. We compare node coordinates and section profiles against the approved engineering model, then flag any deviation larger than 3 mm. The verification report is attached to the delivery package for your QA team.

Are existing CAD point clouds included in the base scope?

Point clouds captured before the engagement are not automatically part of the base scope. We can register and clean them for an additional work package, which includes noise filtering, coordinate alignment, and clash detection against the proposed structural grid. This is scoped separately per site.

What does the support window cover after delivery?

The standard window runs for 30 business days after handover and covers model corrections, rendering artefacts, and questions about the verification report. It does not cover new design revisions or changes to the structural grid. Extended support is available as a separate arrangement.
